The Steiner Commander features the same open bridge design as the smaller Navigator series. Thanks to the new open bridge design, the binoculars can be easily gripped and held with one hand, making use on deck much easier. Like the previous models, the new series also features the legendary Steiner durability, making this model ideal for the toughest marine conditions. The further developed NBR long-life rubber armature and coating provides significantly improved grip and anti-slip, which makes it more comfortable to use. Thanks to the powerful construction, the binoculars are waterproof up to a depth of 10 m. With a 50mm lens diameter and 7x magnification, the Commander provides a calm view even in rough seas. Thanks to Steiner's unique Diamond Marine coating, which uses a mixture of rare fluorides and other minerals, the lenses provide a bright image with unsurpassed light transmission, clarity and contrast, even in low-light conditions. The hydrophobic front lens coating creates a lens surface that protects against dirt and water. Even rain and snow quickly form droplets that disappear from the field of vision. The Steiner Commander is available in two versions - with and without a compass. The compass provides fast, accurate and reliable orientation. The compass is covered and protected by a long-life NBR rubber armor coating, and the compass needle is able to respond quickly thanks to sophisticated liquid damping. Optimized placement of the on/off switch means you don't have to move your hand to turn the light on and off, making it quick and easy to use without taking your hands off the binoculars. The eyepieces are equipped with individual diopter adjustment, and once set, images are sharp from 20 meters to infinity. The eyepieces are also ergonomically designed, ensuring an optimal distance to the exit pupil and convenient use of the entire 140 m field of vision. They also protect the eyes from light and wind coming in from the sides.
